Gajanan J. Sathe, Ph.D. obtained his Ph.D. degree from Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Manipal, India for the work that he carried out at the Institute of Bioinformatics in Bangalore. During his Ph.D. studies, he worked on curcumin-induced signaling in head and neck cancer. He also worked in Dr. Akhilesh Pandey’s laboratory at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA on proteomic profiling of brain and cerebrospinal fluid for identification of biomarker for Alzheimer’s disease. At IOB, he is employing cutting-edge mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies to discover biomarkers and therapeutic targets in a variety of human diseases.
